Investigating the Impact of Management Information Systems’ Capacity on the Professional Ethics

Abstract

Introduction: Professional ethics is one of the essential topics of all human societies. Professional ethics is a strategic tool that discusses on the ethical topics of the specialized sciences of different professions as well as discussing on the issue that how professional knowledge should be used to provide appropriate services. In using information systems, managers should be more aware of the impacts of systems on individuals and organizations and be more confident in achieving their determined objectives. Accordingly, this paper tends to investigate the impact of the capacity of information systems on professional ethics.
Materials and Method: The present research is an applied research in terms of purpose and, descriptive-correlation research in terms of type and analysis. The statistical society in this research deals with the managers of the Faculties of the Islamic Azad University in Mashhad; 86 individuals were selected using classified random sampling method. Data were collected using two standard questionnaires of professional ethics and capacity of information systems. The data were analyzed using SPSS and Smart PLS software and taking benefit of structural equation modeling method.
Results: Research findings showed that the capacity of information systems affects professional ethics of managers.
Conclusion: As a result, the capacity of information systems affects the professional ethics of managers of the Faculties of Islamic Azad University in Mashhad.
